Tim Barnes - Boca Raton
Tim Barnes, General Manager of The Violin Shop is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He was the principal violist of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra from 1993-2002. He is a former member of the The New World Symphony and has recorded with many artists including Michael Jackson and Placido Domingo. As a teacher Mr. Barnes’ students have included concerto competition winners as well as principal viola of Florida’s
All-State Orchestra.
Mr. Barnes has worked with The Violin Shop since 2002. He uses his experience as a seasoned professional and teacher to assist players in finding instruments and bows that meet their price range with the characteristics they are seeking.
Mr. Barnes is married to Virginia Barnes, private violin teacher, and has two sons, Matthew and Vincent.
